The Bruins of South Bay club is a dedicated non-profit support organization whose members are UCLA graduates, family, friends and supporters.  Active members live and/or work in all the adjoining South Bay area, from LAX-El Segundo, through the beach cities of Manhattan, Hermosa, Redondo, and including Hawthorne, Torrance, Palos Verdes and San Pedro.  [Registered 501c3 non-profit organization]  Welcome to the Bruins of South Bay site!

Join us for our next Board & Planning meeting of 2018! Tuesday April 3rd at the home of Don Myers.

Time & Location: 7:00pm, 248 33rd Street, Hermosa Beach CA (Don’s house).   [Registered 501c3 non-profit organization]. 



Past Event: Dinner & Concert Series, Redondo Beach (Feb. 18)

5:00pm Dinner at Dominique’s Kitchen:  522 S. Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach (north of Sapphire/Francisca) Limited parking on lot, but street parking available on PCH, Sapphire and Francisca.
7:00pm Peninsula Symphony Concert @ Redondo Union High School Auditorium:  “Animal Farm” (Auber, Bach, Vaughan Williams, Hovhaness, Saint-Saens)  Concerts are free, supported by South Bay community donors.  The Peninsula Symphony has been performing for 51 years. A concert flyer is attached below.


UCLA Food Closet Project

Bruins of the South Bay club continues to collect nonperishable food items and toiletries for the UCLA Food Closet. According to a July 2016 Los Angeles Times article, 40% of UC students do not have a consistent source of high-quality, nutritious food. The UCLA Food Closet, which opened in 2009, feeds hungry students, no questions asked.
